Mandarin Oriental is making a big splash with its first property in the Caribbean. The Pink Sands Club, re-named The Mandarin Oriental Canouan, is an exclusive ultra luxurious resort located on the Grenadine island of Canouan. The main resorts sits on the beach and sweeps up the hillside to provide unparalleled views of the island and surrounding ocean. The island is surrounded by the Caribbeans largest living coral reef, offering unparalleled diving and water sports. From walking trails to world class golf, the opportunities are endless.
The resort is composed of 26 ocean front suites and an additional 12 multi level villas. Each room is custom designed bringing the best of Italian design features mixed with classic Caribbean chic. This creates a unique aesthetic woven through with the iconic Pink Sands Club pink accent. Mandarin Oriental plans to build unique residences, offering guests more long-term choices. No date has been confirmed for the opening of these residences.
With five different dining options on the property itself, and another four nearby, there is plenty to choose from. The paired restaurants, Romeo and Juliet, respectively offer everything from Pan-Asian cuisine to European fine dining. The cafe offers an assortment of Caribbean and Mediterranean style seafood tapas. For drinks relax at the Hampton-esque Turtle Bar with a premium cocktail or bottle of fine wine.
For those looking to relax further, the Spa offers a multitude of different treatments, each blending the natural properties of the island with sophisticated modern techniques. With treatment rooms nestled into the forested hillside and over-water huts, all treatments utilize the natural surroundings to bring ultimate relaxation to its guests.
